~ Wappinger Falls, NY ~
The Sanctuary
I founded Rising Earth Healing Arts in 2023 after years of tending women, families, and communities through bodywork, birth, and healing since 2009.
Nestled in the historic village of Wappingers Falls, New York, the sanctuary rests beside the flowing waters of Wappinger Creek. Water is life. From the waters of the womb from which we first emerged to the rivers that nourish the Earth and flow within our own bodies, water reminds us that all life begins in relationship, movement, and renewal.
When I first walked into this space, it was an empty shell . As a newly renovated building waiting to be filled with purpose. Before I noticed anything else, I was drawn to the rhythm of flowing water. Its steady song could be heard the moment I crossed the threshold. As I explored further, I discovered that Wappinger Creek flowed alongside the building itself, its waters coming right up to the sanctuary. It felt less like I had found a building and more like I had been led to a place that was already alive.
Around that same season, I had returned from studying Maya abdominal therapy, a path that profoundly deepened my understanding of the body as a living landscape of memory, healing, and belonging. Along the way, I found myself deeply moved by the story of Ixchel.
In the Maya tradition, Ixchel is remembered as a keeper of medicine, healing, weaving, water, birth, and the rhythms of feminine life. She is often honored as an elder who understands both creation and transformation. A reminder that healing is woven into the cycles of nature itself.
I do not seek to recreate an ancient tradition or speak for a living culture. Instead, I hold deep respect for the wisdom that has endured through generations and for the teachers who have entrusted me with a small part of that lineage. To me, Ixchel represents something timeless: the one who remembers how to listen.
She reminds me that the body carries its own intelligence, that healing begins with presence, and that the deepest medicine is often found by returning to what has always been within us.
That spirit lives at the heart of this sanctuary.
Here, we slow down to listen, to honor the wisdom of the body, the rhythms of nature, the sacredness of touch, and the quiet intelligence that lives within each of us.
Whether you arrive seeking rest, healing, clarity, or simply a place to breathe, my hope is that this sanctuary offers a place where you can remember your own medicine.
The Wappinger Creek waters flowing alongside the sanctuary
Nestled along the Wappinger Creek, the Sanctuary at Rising Earth Healing Arts offers a place to slow down and allow our bodies to soften and unfurl. Light moves through the trees and across the water, shifting with the seasons and inviting a natural rhythm back into the body.
Just beyond the treatment rooms, the three-season sunroom opens to the creek ~ a quiet space to sit, breathe, and integrate from April through October. This is an environment designed to support your nervous system and the body’s inherent capacity for healing. If you feel called to gather here in an intimate way ~ to host a small circle, seasonal ritual, or restorative evening with your community, the Sanctuary may be available for thoughtfully aligned use.
This space holds room for meaningful connection.
A Warm Embrace
The sanctuary at Rising Earth Healing Arts was created with the intention that it feel like a warm embrace when one walks through the threshold. Christine is a kinesthetic learner and she thrives in environments that convey a sense of softness and grace. This is one of the intentions that fueled the creative design of the sanctuary.
Every nook of the sanctuary tells a story of the journey she has taken on her path as a mother, visionary, bodywork therapist, ceremonialist and a mentor serving women who wish to return to their inner truth through their womb and bodies. Christine believes that healing and transformation doesn’t need to be sterile and clinical, or a struggle in fact the most profound and deepest healing comes from being emerged within the simplicities of Nature.
